E3 2021 has already kicked off with quite a bang, with announcements for quite a few new IP, returning favorites, and what felt like an hour of Forza 5. A big surprise from Xbox/Bethesda’s conference, however, was a sequel to one of our favorites from 2019, A Plague Tale: Innocence, with an all-new sequel: A Plague Tale: Requiem. Check out the trailer:
Slated for release in 2022 and coming day one to Xbox Game Pass, A Plague Tale: Requiem appears to follow up on the first title almost immediately, as Hugo still appears to be a child. Sporting absolutely stunning visuals and more of those delightful little biters — the aforementioned plague (of rats), I’m absolutely delighted to see this IP return. While not without its imperfections, the first A Plague Tale would’ve won my 2019 GOTY had it not been for REmake 2, with a deeply chilling atmosphere and brilliant puzzle design, along with a beautiful soundtrack and wonderfully silly ending. I’m hoping for much of the same from this new title.
