Nintendo’s E3 digital event this year wasn’t exactly…anything special. It’s saddening, especially since I’m a huge Nintendo fan, but their presentation left a lot to be desired. Judging from what we saw, the Wii U isn’t exactly in an appealing position moving through 2015 and into 2016. Despite all that, Nintendo did manage to sneak in a brand new trailer for Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water into YouTube’s ongoing E3 stream. Yeah, I know, where was this during their actual presentation?!
As expected, you’ll be utilizing the Wii U gamepad as a camera to capture images of the paranormal entities in the game. It’s traditional Fatal Frame gameplay, made even more immersive thanks to the gamepad itself. It’s definitely nice to see a survival horror game on Wii U, especially an exclusive one. With other big name horror titles like Resident Evil Revelations 2, Resident Evil HD Remaster and the upcoming Resident Evil 0 HD Remaster being absent from the platform’s library, Fatal Frame should definitely help ease that itch.
