E3 2013: Dark details revealed through E3 trailer

Dark - E3 2013

If you are a fan of the stealth/action genre with a spicy twist, surely you don’t want to miss out on the upcoming role-playing game Dark. The game was first announced in early May 2012, with Kalypso Media being the publishers and Realmforge Studios standing behind them as developers.

Something of a hybrid between such games as Splinter Cell, Vampire: The Masquerade, and Deus Ex, it left a decent amount of gamers impressed. But of course, the game has that one little twist… If you have ever wondered what Splinter Cell might have been like if Sam Fisher had been a kick-ass vampire, then Dark may very well be the game for you!

Eric Bane, the protagonist, suffers from amnesia as he undergoes the vampiric turn. With a newly found desire to drink the blood of his creator, he must now unravel the mysteries behind his creator’s disappearance . The new E3 2013 trailer for this vamp-stealth game showcases some of Eric’s vampiric Skills, which players will use blood points to perform . The trailer also showcases some interesting locations, and reveals a quite, dark, urban setting, aptly reflecting the games’ title.

While I love the concept of a stealth-based game featuring the return of vampires, the “Skills” this trailer showcases aren’t exactly innovative to the genre . In fact, if anything, it reminds me of the old vamp-stealth game Vampire Rain and Blood Omen 2. Despite that, Dark showcases some interesting twists and turns, that may very well redeem this genre!
Be sure to hold onto your wallet if this title interests you, as its set to hit the shelves for the Xbox 360 on July 9th in North America, and late-June for PC.
