Remember when I posted about DYING: Sinner Escape and its odd, understated announcement via forum posts? Well, that has thankfully changed as the game has some spiffy new PR to go along with its spiffy new (and mistakenly double) trailer and screenshots. Along with a release date of August 14th for the first two chapters of this episodic horror title comes some brand new story details that lets us know what we’re getting into.
The story of the game follows a man named Colby Davis. Colby, who is trapped in a series of rooms created by his own mind as a means of torment, must escape with the aid of his ex-girlfriend Ruby. The world that Colby has created will force him to find redemption and free himself of the guilt from the death of his mother and unborn brother.
DYING: Sinner Escape is being produced by Troy Dunniway, whom has worked on a variety of games including SAW, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Vegas, and Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee. No details on price were given, but I wouldn’t expect it to be much per chapter. DYING will see the release of more episodes in the future and a PlayStation Vita port later this year.
