The independent game development space runs much deeper than many people realize. Just below Outlast and Agony are smaller teams and single devs working their hardest to make experiences that are just as memorable. Some are less successful than others, but every once in a while a project with real promise rears it’s head, much like BEWARE.
According to the game’s page on IndieDB, BEWARE is “an open-world driving simulation where the player embarks on a long journey of information-gathering through exploration.” The game’s brief description also says that BEWARE’s gameplay includes “car chases with challenging AI opponents.” and that “there are stealth elements too where you can avoid being detected and explore the world undisturbed.”
While there are few screenshots to look at, the game’s graphical style seems appropriately moody for its subject matter. There are also a few user reviews for the project, which praise the demo’s style and garner a few comparisons to other open-ended titles like S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
