The Nintendo Switch has made quite a name for itself in the last year, finding itself with a robust first-party lineup supplemented by a wonderful assortment of independent games. 2018 looks to be continuing that trend, and if WarSaw Games’ upcoming 2D platform Dream Alone is any indication, the Switch will continue to be a great place for indies on-the-go.
In development for PC, Switch, and consoles, Dream Alone is a 2D horror adventure which is described by the developer as being stylistically “Burtonesque”. Players take control of a young man named Irra, who solves puzzles by switching between realities and creating clones of himself. Dream Alone also boasts “A dark story reminiscent of fairy tales,” and a “Beautiful and minimalist score.”
2D horror games have managed to find their own niche in recent years, and games like Inside are proof that they can be done well. Here’s hoping that WarSaw Games can deliver a memorable 2D horror experience with Dream Alone.
You can check out the developer’s website right here. Dream Alone is expected to release on March 21st, 2018.
