Last year, Bethesda released the Doom + Doom 2 set, allowing you to play id Software’s classic games on modern hardware. The fact that remastering work was done by Nightdive Studios made the re-release better. But for those of you who like physical copies of legendary first-person shooters, there’s something on the horizon.
The good people over at Limited Run Games is set to launch a special edition of Doom, which will come with the original games plus all the extra content. The set is being referred to as the “Will It Run” edition, with pre-orders being taken between April 18 and May 18. You can wishlist it on the website now.

Probably the most standout thing about this edition – aside from the hefty $666 price tag – is the fact that the box itself will actually let you play Doom. According to the description, the physical encasement will literally come preloaded with a copy of the classic game. On top of that, you’ll also get a tiny Cacodemon which also plays the game. Seriously, is there anything that doesn’t run it?

Limited Run Games is also launching some other physical copies, including the “Big Box,” which is priced at $99.99 and the “Standard Edition,” which will set you back $29.99. All versions also come with Sigil and Sigil 2, the new map campaigns made by Doom co-creator John Romero.
