DOOM Eternal‘s first DLC The Ancient Gods – Part One is available as of this moment via Steam, Bethesda, XBox Store, PlayStation Store and Stadia. It’s been a mere seven months on the dot and already chewing gum supplies seem to be at an all-time low again, as Doomguy is back in action for DOOM Eternal‘s first DLC The Ancient Gods – Part One which Bethesda describes as f0llows:
After defeating the Khan Maykr and obliterating the
reincarnated Icon of Sin, the DOOM Slayer’s fight is just getting started. Unleash your vengeance and face your greatest test as you march back to the Maykr’s realm. Defeat powerful new threats, restore order to the heavens and unearth the corruption that has thrown the universe into chaos.
The single-player expansion’s release is accompanied by the launch trailer that shows off our favorite gun-wielding person in an olive suit shooting, smashing, and jumping his way through new are(n)as, new enemies, across new platforms, and into angry-looking faces. Even sharks do not seem to be safe any longer as you can see for yourself in the video below.
If you have witnessed the events surrounding the game’s esteemed composer Mick Gordon’s departure from working with id Software, you might want to know who will be providing the soundtrack to all your upcoming ripping and tearing. The names behind the sound from now on are David Levy and Andrew Hulshult, the latter of which not being much of a surprise to me personally, as he had already delivered some badass sonic mayhem for id’s very own Quake Champions.
The DLC is available as an add-on (if you already own the base game) or as a standalone edition which does not require you to own DOOM Eternal or have it installed. As an owner of the main game, you can get the DLC either via the Year One Pass (which includes both The Ancient Gods Part One as well as the upcoming The Ancient Gods Part Two) or as a separate purchase as mentioned above. If you are one of the People who went all the way and bought the DOOM Eternal Deluxe Edition then you are already all set, as the Year One Pass is already included in this package.
