Ever since Nintendo’s newest console burst onto the scene, it seems like everyone has been trying to get a slice of the action. Bethesda’s recently announced ports of 2016’s DOOM and the upcoming Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus have been particularly interesting to watch develop. Partially because of the amount of violence and gore usually not found in Nintendo’s third-party offerings, but also because everyone is wondering how the modern shooters will work on the Switch’s hardware.
Fans of Bethesda’s flagship shooter series won’t have to wait much longer for answers because DOOM is making its way to the Nintendo Switch this November. As a recent adopter of the Nintendo Switch and huge DOOM fan, I am incredibly excited at the prospect of taking all that ripping and tearing on the go. I just hope that the powerful little handheld is up to the task of giving fans the full DOOM experience on the go.
Id Software has also released a developer interview with Marty Stratton and Hugo Martin, detailing the process of bringing 2016’s blockbuster shooter to Nintendo’s powerhouse handheld. You can check out the interview via Nintendo’s YouTube channel down below.
