Don’t Starve: Giant Edition on PS Vita will be Cross-Buy, Releasing September 2nd

dont'starve

If you’ve avoided famine for this long, Don’t Starve: Giant Edition is coming out next week to change that. Klei Entertainment’s ever-bizarre Tim Burton-esque survival sim is coming to PS Vita with the Reign of Giants expansion packed in. This includes the addition of Spring and Summer seasons, new biomes, creatures, and gatherables, along with two new characters: Wigfrid, a ‘stage actress who went a bit too far with method acting on her latest role’ and Webber, a ‘young boy who lives inside the spider who tried to eat him long ago.’ DAS NASTY. There’s also an additional save slot since so many players requested one.

The Giant Edition will be cross-buy, so if you already own Don’t Starve on PS4, you’ll get the Vita version for free (but will have to pay for the expansion). It’ll cost you $14.99. Due to a lot of re-programming to work on the Vita, cross-play will unfortunately not be available. That’s only a small blemish on all of the cool things Klei is offering here. I’m getting a little hungry; hopefully I Don’t Starve to death before the release on September 2nd, geddit?
