Finnish game developer Jesse Makkoken’s DISTRAINT released back in 2015, and for the most part we enjoyed it. Well, now he’s back with the sequel, DISTRAINT 2.
The 2D psychological horror sequel follows right after the events of the first game. Protagonist Price, a man who sold his soul to improve his career, is back and still in anguish. Makkoken states that DISTRAINT 2 is a game about “restoring hope and finding your purpose.” Players can expect minimalist but highly stylized visuals, atmospheric sound design, and — ostensibly — an interesting story. Hopefully it improves upon the few issues we cited in our review of the first game.
DISTRAINT 2 is available on Steam today for $8.99 and will release on iOS and Android devices in early 2019.
