Gamespot UK has recently posted a video interview they conducted with Peter Brolly of Deep Silver. In it they talk about various aspects of the upcoming tropical-zombie shooter, Dead Island. One of the main points of this interview is the notion of the implied sense of emotion that was brought about by the game’s much-talked about cinematic trailer. When questioned if this was meant to actually show us how the game’s tale may play out and, in turn, if the game is meant to instill serious subject matter (as opposed to Dead Rising’s more fun take on the apolcalypse) Brolly claimed that Deep Silver is in fact going for a ‘visceral’ experience.
Brolly then goes on to talk about the game’s size when compared to other open-world games in the market. Weapons are also briefly talked about with a mention, but no confirmation or denial, of chainsaws in the game’s vast selection of weapons. And when questioned about the notion of including celebrity zombies, Brolly mentions how he’d be interested in seeing…Well, I’ll let you find that bit out for yourselves in the video below!
