Techland’s Dying Light will now feature co-operative and competitive multiplayer in customer maps according to their latest press release. A update to the free Steam Workshop tools will allow players to construct a map and suit it to either PvP or co-op. Techland also comments on the most popular customer maps having a chance to jump to consoles too.
‘Just like with the main game we’ve been supporting the Dev Tools for almost a year now, and we’ve already seen amazingly creative stuff from our fans’ – says producer Tymon Smektała. – ‘We believe the co-op and PvP support can inspire a new wave of original maps for everyone to enjoy. At the same time, we’re working hard to bring some the very best custom maps to consoles, and I hope we’ll have something to announce soon.
The update will also launch along with a new map called ‘Don’t Drown‘, which is set on an island slowly beginning to flood where players will battle it out against each other before the tide rises whiling avoiding (and murdering) zombies, of course. The map is made by Dying Light community member Rabbid Squirrel and looks pretty fun! If you want some tips on how to create Dying Light content, checkout Techland’s YouTube channel here.
