The mysterious Death Stranding is more than a “simple” game and the actor Troy Baker, who plays the part of Higgs, believes that if Hideo Kojima, director of the title, succeeds in achieving the goals he has set himself, the game will definitely be a new starting point. During Manchester Comic-Con 2019, Troy Baker suggested that Hideo Kojima is trying to evolve the video game medium and the whole industry with his upcoming title Death Stranding.
His exact words were: “This is certainly a declaration of intent. If you know Hideo Kojima, you know that he does not create “games.” He is an incredible creator of worlds. He is trying to move the medium forward, not just making copies.”
Baker is extremely certain of Kojima’s work and his qualities, he said: “This will be a game sold thanks to the names on the cover but it won’t happen thanks to ‘Norman Reedus’ and ‘Mads Mikkelsen’, and I’m damn sure it won’t be thanks to ‘Troy Baker.’ The name that will sell this game is Kojima.”
A very strong statement. Of course, once again this does not tell us much about the game, but it is undeniable that, from month to month, the extreme passion and trust expressed by the many figures in the field towards Kojima makes us increasingly believe in Death Stranding’s potential.
Setting aside the hype, one thing is certain: Death Stranding is the “name game.” Not only do we have Troy Baker, Norman Reedus, and Mads Mikkelsen, but the faces of Nicolas Winding Refn (Heartman), Guillermo del Toro (Deadman), Lea Seydoux (Fragile), Margaret Qualley (Mama) and Lindsay Wagner (Amelie), to name the most important names. Tell us, what do you think of this cast?
We remind you that Death Stranding will be released for PS4 on the 8th of November 2019.
