Hideo Kojima’s latest creation, Death Stranding, has achieved significant success and is well-known in the gaming community. The acclaimed director is now working on the highly anticipated sequel, Death Stranding 2, promising higher stakes, a more expansive scope, and another ambitious narrative.
Death Stranding 2 is expected to be a major flagship release for PlayStation in 2025. Despite the relatively low-key marketing since its initial reveal in 2022, the development appears to be progressing smoothly. Kojima has indicated that the game’s voice acting and motion capture have been completed. According to Famitsu, this info is sourced directly from Kojima, who shared an update on NHK’s radio broadcast confirming that the actors have finished their work on the project.
Kojima stated that the team has now entered the final adjustment phase of development. During this phase, the game will undergo various tweaks, including scene deletions and additions, gameplay adjustments, performance optimizations, and more. DS2 aims to deliver an enhanced experience by leveraging the power of the Decima engine.
The report suggests this phase will last about a year, allowing Kojima Productions to meet their 2025 launch target. At the recent PlayStation State of Play event, we got a new glimpse of Death Stranding 2, showcasing the studio’s progress so far.
