The remaster of the cult gem Deadly Premonition has been added to Amazon.com for the modest price of $40. Originally released as a budget title for $20 on the Xbox 360 back in 2010, Deadly Premonition was small gamble to try with an amazing payoff. While technologically dated and clunky to play, Deadly Premonition wowed many gamers, including myself, with its awkward characters and engaging story. The amount of convincing that I have done to get people to try the game has been substantial, but the results have typically been positive from those who play enough to “get it”.
While we can’t be entirely sure that Amazon’s price is final, the listing feels like it may be concrete. $40 seems like the perfect price for this title. I hope that those on the fence with the original release come out to try the Director’s Cut. With new story content, updated controls, improved graphics, and new items, Deadly Premonition Director’s Cut might just be the best thing mankind has ever created. Exaggeration? You wish.
I’ll reach out to Rising Star Games to see if the price point is official.
Update: Rising Star Games has confirmed the $40 price.
