Survival RPG Dead State will be finally getting a demo early next year. Developer Brian Mitsoda took to YouTube to reveal a demo entitled Dead State: The First 7 Days, which will cover (duh) the first week of the game. Unfortunately, it appears that the demo will only be available for backers and those who have pre-ordered the game.
For the unfamiliar, Dead State is a turn-based RPG set in – you guessed it – the zombie apocalypse. It’s been a while since I’ve played a turn-based RPG game and I feel a little ashamed I haven’t been paying as close attention to it as I could have been. Dead State story-wise is a lot like you’d expect. As society is beginning to fall apart, the player must organize allies, fortify a shelter and just try to survive. Of course, what’s growing increasingly common in games like this is not the fact that there are zombies walking around outside, but the fact that the humans are a bigger threat.
Mitsoda believes that the full seven days (a few hours in game) will give players an idea of how the game is going to play, how shelter management will work and a little bit of how the story will unfold.
