Dead Space Official Gameplay Trailer Breaches Quarantine

Dead Space

The day has finally come. EA Motive just released an official gameplay trailer for the highly anticipated remake of Dead Space. While we’ve got a few developer diaries in the past exploring the game’s improved lighting, sound, atmosphere, character design, and environments, this is the first time we’ve actually got to see the game proper in action.

When the remake was first announced back in 2021, we were a bit skeptical about its potential. The original was a classic. How could anyone hope to replicate its lightning-in-a-bottle gameplay and atmosphere? Then, we got our first glimpse of it. The developers said that the game would be rebuilt from the ground up and would take advantage of modern hardware as well as modify existing elements of the game to include quality of life improvements, including the Zero-G free-float mechanic which wasn’t featured until the sequel.

In addition to all the technical bells and whistles, the remake will feature, its also been confirmed that the original Isaac Clarke voice actor Gunner Wright will be returning to voice everyone’s favorite traumatized space engineer. The developers made a conscious design decision to have Isaac speak quite a bit more than he did in the original game.

Along with the Dead Space remake, we also have another triple space horror game to look forward to with The Callisto Protocol, which is being helmed by Glen Schofield, the co-creator and executive producer of the original Dead Space and founder of Striking Distance Studios. The Callisto Protocol is set to release on December 2, 2022.

Dead Space will release on January 27, 2023, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
