Capcom unveiled a brand new look at Dead Rising 3 at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. The first of several entries in the “Zombie Apocalypse Evolved: The Making of Dead Rising 3” ViDoc series released and with it comes a nice hefty chunk of gameplay.
The ViDoc explores the world of Dead Rising 3 and the type of weaponry that can be used against its next-gen zombies. Thankfully, the video shows off that Capcom Vancouver has not forgotten about comedy–by highlighting a few humorous costumes and ridiculous weapons that can be found in the game. If this video is any indication, it appears that the comedic roots of the series have not been jeopardized for the sake of appealing to the Call of Duty audience. Hopefully this remains true in the final product.
I initially had some reservations about Dead Rising 3 and its desaturated, serious-looking tone, but this video has eased some of my concerns. Hopefully, as the next parts of the ViDoc release, we’ll see some more of the classic Dead Rising charm that made the previous games so goofy and entertaining.
Dead Rising 3 will release this November exclusively for the Xbox One.
