Something about putting your gun to rest and lifting your axe (or whatever other melee weapon) to take down a zombie seems to bring a sense of pleasure to players. Well, if you’re one of those people that finds satisfaction in this (really, who doesn’t?) then you’ll be happy to know that like Dead Rising, Dead Island will boast a huge assortment of weapon creations.
How huge? Let Deep Silver’s brand manager, Vincent Kummer answer that for you: “We’re looking into a couple of thousand.” We’ve already seen one of the crazy weapon results from the game with the reveal of the electric machete, which is, of course, downright awesome. It’ll be interesting to see what other crazy weapons players will be able to come up with in the midst of desperation brought about by the game’s zombie-ridden world.
