Starbreeze has today announced that their asymmetrical multiplayer horror game Dead By Daylight is headed to the PS4 and Xbox One. After shipping 1.8m copies on Steam, the game hopes to strengthen its popularity on consoles later this year for a yet to be announced sum.
“We’re proud of Behaviour Digital’s success with Dead by Daylight and can’t wait to deliver it to consoles together.” said Mikael Nermark, Starbreeze CoO.
”Being able to share Dead by Daylight with console players, many of them counted among our loyal viewers, is very exciting” said Stephen Mulroney, Senior Vice President at Behaviour Digital.
Dead By Daylight pits a group of four survivors against a crazed killer. Survivors are tasked with starting generators to open an escape route, and the killer has to … kill. Out of the several of asymmetrical multiplayer horror games I’ve played, Dead By Daylight certainly has post-release support and ambition on its side, but for me it still doesn’t hit the spot. I invite you to check it out for yourself, though, when it hits consoles. Until then, I’ll be anxiously awaiting the release of Friday the 13th.
