Ever since the announcement of the standalone version of DayZ, many people have been asking about a potential console release along side the PC version. While as of yet nothing is official, it looks like the developers are very open to the possibility. In an interview with The Escapist, DayZ creator Dean Hall said a console version is almost a certainty if the PC version comes out without any major flaws.
He didn’t mention any specific platforms, only that he has been in talks with Sony about the possibility of getting the game ported, and that Sony were “very interested in the prospect of getting the game. Given the launch window of the PC version, it would probably make the most sense to put the game on the Playstation 4 and next Xbox.
Personally I think this would be an excellent move by Bohemia Interactive, a broader audience should be able to experience the brilliance that is DayZ.
