DayZ Gets a Visual Boost with New Renderer that supports DirectX 11

DayZ‘s gearing up to release its v.60 update later this month, so the team at Bohemia Interactive have shared what’s new: most importantly, a look at the game’s visual update thanks to the implementation of its new renderer.

Lead Producer of DayZ, Brian Hicks, has shared a video of him taking a stroll through the game with new DirectX 11 rain, lighting, and particle effects active; the difference in visual fidelity between the DirectX 9 version and the latest is most certainly noticeable.

In addition to prettier visuals, players should expect (while keeping expectations in check) improved performance thanks to the new rendering tech. Let’s cross our fingers for a stable 60fps+ whole in towns…

Check out the latest DayZ status report for word on the renderer, new radio stations, and more.
