Bohemia Interactive has today pushed out build 0.49 on DayZ‘s experimental branch, adding a host of new features and changes to the game.
One of the biggest new features added is player status effects created by weather conditions. Players can now experience hypothermia, hyperthermia, and everything in between based on clothing they’re wearing and what the map’s weather is like. Exposure to water, such as taking a dip in a pond or rain, will now make clothes wet, presumably with ailments stemming from prolonged contact. An option to dry clothes has been added and raincoats (and Gorka jackets) prevent wetness from rain.
Improvements to animal AI, the navmesh which zombies use to navigate, and melee combat can also be found.
