Dark Souls II producer Takeshi Miyazoe went on record claiming that From Software didn’t “expect any additional downloadable content because we want to deliver a full game, the full experience, to fans who purchase the package from day one.” Well, forget that noise! Coming from Kotaku is the announcement of three DLC episodes for the game, collectively known as the “Lost Crowns Trilogy.” Crown of the Sunken King will be available in the Americas on July 22, Crown of the Old Iron King on August 26, and Crown of the Ivory King on September 24.
Each individual episode is $10, and the Steam version of the game will offer a season pass for $25. While I know some will complain that From Software is going back on their DLC-free promises, Dark Souls II was saturated with content and I felt more than justified with my purchase. More content sounds perfectly pleasant to me. The snowy area in the trailer looks like a nice change of pace, too. Check it out:
