After a not so subtle tease last week from Spike Chunsoft’s English Twitter account, and a Steam database leak some weeks ago, it looks like Monokuma and the kids are indeed PC bound. Today it has been announced that Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc is headed to PC via Steam. The second game is sure to follow, but has not been confirmed at this point.
The PC port of the first Danganronpa game has yet to be detailed in terms of improvements or display settings, as the Steam page sports non-1080p resolution images. So it looks like we’re dealing with an upscale here. Potentially. The game did jump from the PSP to the Vita, both handheld consoles. The game will indeed have Steam Achievement and cards, though.
What does this mean for the future of the Danganronpa series? Well, hopefully that future titles won’t just be bound to consoles and will release on PC as well. I’m quite fond of playing these games on my Vita, so if Danganronpa V3 also comes to PC, I’m going to have to do some serious deliberating. Either way, this is very exciting. Danganronpa is a series that should be experienced by all.
