D.C. Douglas Bringing Resident Evil Inspired Isle of the Dead To SyFy

We’re finally going to get to see this!

D.C. Douglas (Resident Evil’s Albert Wesker in every one of his appearances since The Umbrella Chronicles) has been hard at work on this project for a very long time, teasing it through photos on his facebook page and blog posts about working on the project. Isle of the Dead, which stars him as well as Maryse Ouellet Mizanin (WWE Diva) and Joey Lawrence (Melissa & Joey), is a zombie thriller send off to Resident Evil that was developed by D.C.,  Jacob Cooney and Brandon Trenz after they discovered how much they all loved zombies while working on a comedy.

The film’s plot is as follows:

The story begins ten years ago, when an Army research post on a remote tropical island was decimated by a strange new virus. Now, a team of SEALS on a recon mission has gone missing on the island. When a Strike Team arrives to rescue them, they must deal with an onslaught of zombies. As they fight their way to the old lab facility, they realize that the Colonel in charge of the research station (D.C. Douglas) is still alive and still experimenting—the zombies are his creations, and every new wave the team faces is more vicious and ghastly than the one before.

Well, now we’ve got a trailer and a release date, with the adventure hitting SyFy August 18th (just a few days from now!) 8PT/11ET. I’m stoked, especially to see D.C. back in the zombie zone, and the promise of some cool Resident Evil easter eggs hidden throughout, just for the fans!
