Set in 2053, the game follows Noah, an agent tasked with investigating the disappearance of miners deep within the Pacific Ocean. Along with Key, an artificial intelligence, Noah finds himself exploring the sunken city of R’lyeh.
Unfortunately, Noah’s presence in this remote place awakens an ancient and terrifying evil, and the player’s goal is to navigate the vast hidden structure, uncover its secrets, and try to maintain their sanity, all while enjoying the stunning Unreal Engine 5 graphics.
The first announcement of Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss was made during Nacon Connect 2025, with a cinematic trailer that teased the game’s atmosphere, though it didn’t clearly reveal the exact experience players can expect.
