If anyone is curious, the 20 amnesic characters they named off were Duster (Mother 3), Dr. Nimdok (I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream), The Courier (New Vegas), Haley (Fallout 3: Point Lookout), named off Pokemon who can learn the ability amnesia (46 of them), Phoenix Wright (Justice For All), Double H (Beyond Good & Evil), Mousimilian (Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door), Whatever (Mother 3), Ilia (Twilight Princess), Shadow the Hedgehog (Sonic), Galuf (Final Fantasy V), Terra (Final Fantasy VI), Rachel (Final Fantasy VI), Bowser (Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga), Mario (in an episode of the Super Mario Show, which technically counts because he is a video game character), James (Silent Hill 2, repressed memories), Zero (Mega Man), Neku (The World Ends With You), and Eleni (Vandal Hearts). It’s enough good-will to make horror lovers like us gag. But worry not, for we’re here to give you something to fear! By giving you lousy-lot presents that are sure to make you forget about all that happiness nonsense. We have several horror-related things to give out this Holiday season; all we ask is to try your luck and give us something small in return. An indie game that luckily found the fame it deserved as one of the the scariest games to ever exist, and we couldn’t be happier. It’s been a little over a year since it’s official release, and we’re here to give one of you lucky buggers a copy of the game. But there are a few things you need to have to enter. To enter, you’ll need…
1.) First, you’ll need to have the Steam client for either Windows, Mac, or Linux. If you don’t have Steam, sign up for it. It’s free.
2.) You’ll also need to know the email that your Steam account is associated with. If you’re not sure what that email is, you can find out or change it by going to to the top of the main window and clicking ‘Steam’. Go down to settings, and it will be your ‘Contact Email’.
3.) And what you need to do to enter this contest, send an email over to RStanford@relyonhorror.com with the following two items:
-State what your Steam email is. It’s the only way we can gift you the game, so be sure to include it.
-Name at least 20 video game characters who have had amnesia. The main character of Amnesia, Daniel, DOES NOT COUNT.
The winner will be randomly selected among those who fulfill the 20 minimum amnesic character listing. The contest will end 7 PM PST Time (10 PM EST Time) on December 21st. The winner will be notified of winning via email a little after that time, along with the game gifted to their email. If it’s not redeemed in 12 hours, another winner will be selected.
