Castlevania producer announces Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night

At long last, IGA has revealed what his Kickstarter project is. The famed developer has announced Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night (for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC), and judging by the early information and concept art, it looks like it could be a wonderful Metroidvania style game. Which should come as no surprise when taking IGA’s previous work into consideration, chief among them being Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.

The game is truly a Castlevania spiritual successor. You’re placed in the role of  Miriam, a young woman scarred by an alchemist curse. Said curse is slowly crystallizing her skin, but she’s also granted magic abilities. Your job is to rid yourself of this curse while fighting your way through, and exploring, a castle summoned by your longtime friend turned villain, Gebel. While it’s still a Metroivania type of game in essence, there will also be warp points scattered around to keep backtracking at a minimum. Aside from all the combat, RPG elements, and exploration you’ve come to expect from the genre, IGA is also putting a large focus on crafting, in a system that reminds me of Order of Ecclesia.

You can check out  much more information about the game by heading over to the source link below, where you can also back the project. I’m going to be putting a lot of money towards this. This definitely seems like a treat for us Castlevania fans!
