I’m a huge fan of video game music. I love games with soundtracks that make me just stay idle, listening to catchy or atmospheric compositions instead of continuing the action I’m required to do. Two such games are Castlevania: Lords of Shadow and Mirror of Fate (and I’m sure Lords of Shadow 2 will join this list, too).
Oscar Araujo did a remarkable job with both games’ soundtracks. I much prefer the original game’s tracks, but Mirror of Fate also had its fair share of amazing tunes. And now everyone will be able to add the soundtracks to their collection, thanks to Konami’s partnership with Sumthing Else Music Works.
The label, who also distributed Silent Hill soundtracks (Origins, Homecoming, Shattered Memories, Downpour, and Book of Memories), will be putting out Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Ultimate Edition Soundtrack on October 29, physically and digitally through North America and Europe. There will also be a Director’s Cut version of the soundtrack, which will house twenty unreleased tracks, available exclusively through the label’s official site.
They will also be putting out Mirror of Fate’s soundtrack on the same day digitally, with a physical release scheduled to hit in November. And, of course, they’ll also be distributing the Lords of Shadow 2 soundtrack when that hits next year.
I already own the soundtrack that came with the Limited Edition of the original Lords of Shadow, but I’ll definitely be getting this upcoming release, especially the Director’s Cut. I’ll be bumping to this in my batmobile!
