Capcom to limit outsourcing of games

During an investor conference held last week, Capcom announced that they wish to improve the quality of their games. In order to do so, the publisher wants to produce more games internally, instead of outsourcing them to western studios. Capcom also announced that they wanted to hire up to a 1000 new developers to support the already existing 1500.

Most of the games will be developed for consoles, but the company also wishes to expand their mobile and PC divisions. Currently Devil May Cry, Lost Planet 3 and Remember Me are all being developed by other studios, but it’ll be interesting to see how this will change. For fans of the Devil May Cry series, this news is probably a reason to celebrate.

Let’s hope for the best. Do you think this is a positive development? Let us know!
