Over the past decade, developer Silicon Knights cycled through a list of cancelled games they had put their work into, and one of great interest is a title known only as “The Box”.
The story goes that Silicon Knights pitched a concept for a game that follows the concepts of Silent Hill closely to SEGA during their work on Too Human.
The Box, had it been developed, aimed to be an “open world third person survival horror experience” for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. That’s according to the LinkedIn profile of Stefan Jewinski, a former Silicon Knights staff member.
The project was ditched, but hope was not lost, as it was picked up by THQ and re-dubbed “The Ritualyst.” The project was canned in 2009 unfortunately.
It remains unclear if Konami ever knew about the project.
