Breach & Clear is a tactical warfare simulator that came out earlier in 2014 and had players set up a team of soldiers, customize their equipment, and then command them in turn-based combat against terrorists, mafia, drug cartels and other such criminals. It’s a game I absolutely adore, but as seems to be the rule nowadays, any game that is good and does not feature zombies, will inevitably receive a spin-off that adds them anyway.
Breach & Clear: DEADline will release this fall as an Early Access title on Steam. Players will take command of a special forces team that has been dispatched to Harbor City to figure out the truth behind a zombie strain that has devastated the city. The game will feature more real-time element than ever before and in order to accommodate these, the interface has been reworked for better “on-the-fly decision making”.
I am kind of interested in seeing where this will go and how much of the tactical depth of the original will be maintained. At the very least, it sounds like a good amount of effort is put into this, so it won’t just be a throwaway joke.
