Earlier this week, I reported that the PlayStation 3-exclusive survival game The Last of Us was scheduled for release on May 7th 2013, but Naughty Dog was kind enough to follow that announcement up with some new information.
You can check out the game’s box art below. The first thing I noticed was that the designers chose to put Ellie in the forefront and give her a rather worried expression, which should help the game stand out in the Triple A shelves filled with angry dudes looking away from the camera. Joel is placed more into the background and he doesn’t look too cocky or heroic either.
The regular pre-order bonus has been titled the “Sights and Sounds Pack” and will include a soundtrack, PS3 dynamic theme, and two avatars for PSN. Those of you who shop at Gamestop will be pleased to know that they can also expect to receive the “Survival Pack”, which includes bonus multiplayer experience points, a multiplayer melee attack boost, additional in-game cash, multiplayer customization extras, and some extra skins for the two protagonists. I am not quite sure if the latter will bring along some balancing-issues, but these are still some nifty extras.
