Developed by solo developer Il_pala, The Hotel is a new PC title inspired by survival horror games of the last decade. Development on the game started at the end of 2019 and took three years to complete.
The Hotel follows the story of Alex and Judie, as fate leads them to a dark and forgotten hotel while on vacation. It’s not long before they are plunged into terror and encounter zombies and other creatures. In order to survive, they must solve a series of puzzles, find hints, and grab all the weapons and ammo they can find.
The main game takes place in a hotel with over 88 different rooms to explore and secrets to find. In order to escape, players will need to solve the puzzle to progress through the story. Some are easy, while others are more tricky. In typical classic survival horror fashion, ammo reserves are limited, so you will need to play smart in order to stay alive.
The Hotel features two different routes. In the beginning, you play as Alex. Once you finish his route, Judie will be unlocked and you’ll play through a slightly different version of the story (similar to the dual story paths of Resident Evil 2). The choices you make along the way will unlock different costumes for your characters.
The game is fully compatible with Xbox, PlayStation, and 8BitDo controllers. The PC and Xbox version is made with Unity 2019.4.28f1 with HDRP and the iOS and OSX version is made with Unity 2022 with URP.
The Hotel is available now for PC on Steam. A new update dubbed the V1.5 First Class upgrade, just dropped that fixes the UI, weapons balance, controls, and minor bug fixes, as well as offering an arena mode new weapons rewards, and additional animations.
