Bloober Team recently announced their upcoming survival horror game, Cronos: The New Dawn, but that’s not all the Polish studio is working on. In a recent interview with MP1st, game director Wojciech Piejko confirmed that Bloober Team is also working on another unannounced project.
Piejko shared that the studio operates with two production teams: one focused on Cronos: The New Dawn and another working on the Silent Hill 2 remake, which has now entered pre-production for a new, unannounced title. Details about the new project remain under wraps for now.
“Within the Bloober Team, we have two production teams,” Piejko explained. “Both teams operate independently, however the whole team is sharing the experience of working on previous projects like Medium, Observer, Layers of Fear, Silent Hill 2, Blair Witch etc. And all I can say today is that after the completion of work on Silent Hill 2, the team will conduct the pre-production work on a new project.”
Although the teams work independently, Piejko highlighted that they still collaborate closely. They share resources, knowledge, and, when needed, team members. For example, the audio team from Silent Hill 2 has now joined the Cronos: The New Dawn team.
“Sound is one of the most important ingredients of horror and we are super privileged to have an amazing Artists and Composer here at Bloober Team to take care of it,” Piejko added. “I’m really proud of what the audio team accomplished in SH2 Remake and I can confirm that the same team is now working on Cronos and we can’t wait to share more about the sound of Cronos in the future.”
In the interview, Piejko also teased that Cronos: The New Dawn will draw inspiration from games like Resident Evil and Dead Space for its combat mechanics, but will include unique elements of its own.
Cronos: The New Dawn is set to release in 2025 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
