Bloober Team Open to More Silent Hill Projects After Silent Hill 2 Remake’s Success

Silent Hill 2 Remake

Following the successful release of the Silent Hill 2 Remake, Bloober Team has expressed interest in continuing its work within the beloved horror franchise. The developer, known for its atmospheric and psychological horror games, is considering future remakes or even original titles under the Silent Hill banner.

Wojciech Piejko, Bloober Team’s director and designer, recently discussed the studio’s openness to new opportunities during an interview with IGN. He emphasized that the company is willing to explore future projects that capture their interest, whether that be further remakes of classic Silent Hill titles or creating an entirely new entry in the franchise.

I think we are always open. If we like the opportunity, we’ll take it.

The Silent Hill 2 remake, released on October 8th (Oct. 6th if you preordered the Digital Deluxe version), received widespread critical acclaim, impressing both fans and reviewers with its faithful recreation of the original game’s haunting atmosphere and improved mechanics. The strong sales performance has reignited interest in a franchise that had been dormant for years, leaving fans eager for more.

Piejko added:

There are opportunities that you have to seize. Like Silent Hill 2, you can remake the legend. So yeah, I do believe that everything’s possible.

However, while Bloober Team is open to taking on future Silent Hill projects, any decision regarding new remakes or original games will ultimately rest with Konami, the publisher of the franchise.

Konami has not yet announced any plans for additional Silent Hill projects other than what was already revealed, but the positive reception of the remake suggests that the partnership between the two companies could continue.

In the meantime, Bloober Team is already moving forward with another project: Cronos: The New Dawn. Set in a post-apocalyptic 1980s Poland, this new sci-fi survival horror game marks the studio’s first venture into an original survival horror franchise.

With Silent Hill 2‘s success and Cronos: The New Dawn on the horizon, Bloober Team is solidifying its place as one of the most prominent developers in the horror genre. Fans of Silent Hill are hopeful that the studio will continue its collaboration with Konami, and the potential for new remakes or original Silent Hill content remains a possibility.
