Bloober Team, the developers behind Layers of Fear, Observer, and the new Silent Hill 2 remake just announced a brand new IP with their survival horror game Cronos: The New Dawn.
The game is set in a post-apocalyptic 1980s Poland. In Cronos, players are plunged into a time-travel narrative where they must navigate a brutal wasteland as a Traveler for the so-called Collective.
The first trailer shows off the decrepit world the game is set in, as well as a few encounters with horribly disfigured beings while the game’s protagonist wields their weapons while wearing what is reminiscent of a 1950s diver suit.
The trailer starts with what looks like pre-rendered cutscenes but later does show off some of the third-person gameplay, as the Traveler stalks through a dark, grey and barren wasteland filled with harrowing, organic husks.
Not a lot more is known as of now about the game. It is notable, however, that this represents the Bloober Team’s first original IP in the survival horror genre, making us curious as to what will await in Cronos: The New Dawn.
The game has received a rough release date, only indicating it is due to release in 2025 on Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox stores.
