Blackmore: A Steampunk Adventure Kickstarter Has Failed, Set to Return in Six Weeks

Unfortunately, Jeremy Blaustein’s dream game project, Blackmore, did not reach it’s goal on Kickstarter of $200,000. It had made $77,508 in the time allotted.

Blackmore was set to be an adventure game involving clever puzzles, a dark story, and a rich steampunk art style, using the talents of David Hayter (voice of Solid Snake and Hollywood scriptwriter) and other renowned musicians and programmers from Konami’s past. Blaustein himself has worked in the games industry for over twenty years as a writer and director. Some of his work includes the Metal Gear Solid and Silent Hill series, as well as Shadowhearts, Snatcher, and Valkyrie Profile.

But, not all is lost. The most recent Kickstarter update details some plans for the near future. For starters, the campaign plans to relaunch in about six weeks. Blackmore will also be going full 2D when it returns to Kickstarter, presumably to reduce cost and development time. The post promises that iQiOi will be making the game and are not giving up.

We’ll keep our ear to the ground, because Blackmore is definitely a game we would like to see come to life, especially with the people behind it.
