Blackmore is a new ambitious adventure project using elements from previous hits of the genre, including an immerse isometric world, puzzles, storytelling, and the combined efforts of a Japanese and Western team. The game will also feature point ‘n click mechanics, an orchestral soundtrack, and high detailed artwork.
You play as Emma Blackmore, a brave young heroine who, along with the help of her steampunk gadget-laden robot sidekick, Descartes, must track down a serial killer that’s terrorizing the people of East London. Her normal life is shattered one day and she finds herself embroiled in a dark and twisted mystery that exposes the dark side of the city and the dark side of humanity itself.
The project is being directed by Jeremy Blaustein, a localization expert who has worked on Snatcher, Shadow Hearts: Covenant, Suikoden 2, Metal Gear Solid, and Silent Hill series. He aims for this project to really envelope people and deliver them a story that’ll be the equivalent of reading an excellently written novel.
In addition to Blaustein (now that sounds like a good name for a steampunk villain, eh?), the game will feature the talents of David Hayter (voice actor for Solid Snake and screenplay writer for The Watchmen and X-Men), and the Konami music legend Motoaki Furakawa (Gradius, Super Contra, Snatcher, and Super Smash Bros. to name a few), among other voice talent and program veterans.
The Kickstarter is currently around $16,500+ with 28 days left to go and a goal of $200,000. Will you be supporting Blackmore?
