It was reported some time ago that Indie hit The Binding of Isaac would be seeing a remake for PlayStation 3, Vita and Steam. No news has emerged since then, but now Edmund and crew have finally revealed the first pieces of art that will be used in the game.
The image at the top of this article shows off some redesigns for bosses and mini-bosses with the new 16-bit style of graphics. Other images were more or less for fun (sprites of Edmund and his wife, for example), but a picture of the game with Atari 2600 graphics was also released, which could hint that there’ll be an option to switch between different graphic styles. If these pictures will be used in the final product, though, then I might not buy it after all. Maybe it looks great in motion, but the designs as they are now just look ugly compared to the originals.
My expectations haven’t really changed with the coming of this news (except for the alternate graphics, that would be awesome); I still hope the game will resolve some of the issues with non-stacking items spawning too often and make Mary a character worth using. Expect an update if more screenshots arise!
