Asylum Jam returns this Halloween

Last year, a 48-hour long Game Jam called “Asylum Jam” was held, in which participants were encouraged to design a horror game that did not rely on mental health stereotypes. This was in response to the rise in popularity of using mental disorders and asylums, as well as other medical facilities, as themes for horror-related media.

The jam attracted nearly four-hundred participants that created roughly sixty games and thus it was decided that the event will be held once more; this time to coincide with Halloween. Hopefully some neat games will come from it that will lead the industry to explore some new territory, since more variety is always nice to see.
