Baby-horror-fps-crawling-simulator Among the Sleep developer Krillbite Studios has provided Kickstarter backers with a new trailer, a comparison shot showing the progress on the game, and a few other infant-sized details.
The comparison shot demonstrates how far Krillbite has gone in detailing the residential area you will be exploring as a wee toddler. If you have played the demo (or watched the original footage), you’ll notice that the previously relatively mundane house has transformed into a more nightmarish environment. Where there used to be only a few desks and chairs, there are now all manner of things strewn about. The visuals are looking much better now, and I’m very curious to see how the developers will keep the exploration diverse. The new gameplay video also showcases the redesigned house, while also allowing you to see the cute little baby hands you will be utilizing. There are also promises that the Oculus Rift implementation is going well. The release date is still vaguely set at Spring, so hopefully that will be clarified soon.
While I’ve made fun of all of the recent PC horror FPS games for sticking to the same mold, Among the Sleep seems to better justify its lack of combat and exploratory nature within the context of its narrative. I’m looking forward to crying for my parents while my little baby avatar does the same.
