Most people have been a bit suspicious of Precursor Game’s Shadow Of The Eternals, mostly due in part to the involvement of infamous ex-Silicon Knights developer Denis Dyack. There’s been a plethora of concerns regarding the crowdfunding of this project, and alarm bells are about to ring yet again, as the studio has decided to take down the kickstarter and website for the game:
“We have chosen to temporarily take down the Shadow of the Eternals crowdfunding campaigns on both Kickstarter and our own website on Thursday, June 6.
This doesn’t mean we are going away — far from it. We’ll be re-launching the Kickstarter in just a few short weeks with a reveal of these exciting new developments.”
Paul Caporicci, CEO of the company went on to address concerns regarding the refunds to those that backed the project:
“As we’re closing the current Kickstarter campaign not a single dime from this campaign will be removed from supporters’ accounts and everyone from our website’s crowdfunding campaign will receive full refunds via PayPal. “
It’s anyone’s guess what the point of relaunching the Kickstarter will accomplish, this move will probably only make potential backers think twice before supporting this project at all.
