Gearbox is currently hard at work on the upcoming Xenomorph title, Aliens: Colonial Marines (as well as Borderlands 2…just sayin’). There still isn’t a concrete release date known as of this moment for this anticipated title set between Aliens and Alien 3, but we’re all hoping SEGA releases the game by year’s end. Until then, fans have this leaked image to salivate over, showing the contents of the game’s collector’s edition.
As you can see, the main star of this collector’s edition is the statue of a marine in a power loader suit confronting a Xenomorph. It’s definitely quite the collector’s item. Then you have the expected wealth of “exclusive” DLC content (which will eventually become available to those who opt to purchase the standard edition). Said DLC includes in-game weapons and a new gameplay mode titled “USMC Academy Firing Range.” Then you also get a dossier which will provide fans “essential briefing notes on the Xenomorph infestation.” Oh, yeah, and it’s all housed in a pretty nice-looking box, too.
Keep in mind that this has yet to be “officially” confirmed by SEGA. But still, it looks like the real deal. Expect a confirmation soon regarding this. Or possibly the ever so amiable “no commenting on rumors” stance.
