Alien: Isolation currently sits not only as my favorite horror game of the year, but also as one of my favorite games overall in 2014. It was a truly stressful and scary experience that brought back some great memories from my time in Raccoon City being chased by Nemesis. Hell, wouldn’t this be an interesting blueprint for Capcom to run with for a potential Resident Evil 3 remake?!
As if the main game wasn’t lengthy enough, now we’re starting to see the DLC support for the game. Each pack will revolve around its own character, offering not only a unique perspective, but also new objectives and game modes. It all begins with Corporate Lockdown, which is now available for $7.99. This pack sees Seegson Executive Ransome abandoned by his superiors and attempting to escape the station with the Nostromo data in his possession. This pack also houses three new challenge maps: Severance, Scorched Earth, and Loose Ends. The new game mode included here is Gauntlet Mode, which stays true to its name and makes players go through all of the challenge maps without dying.
The remaining four DLC packs are Trauma, Safe Haven, Lost Contact, and The Trigger. These are scheduled to hit periodically between now and March of next year.
