Alan Wake’s American Nightmare release window & observatory footage from CES 2012

It’s no secret that we’re excited for the upcoming XBLA title, Alan Wake’s American Nightmare. The game has been officially announced to be the first game on the Microsoft House Party 2012 line-up, as will be mentioned in the video below along with some new gameplay of one of the locations in the game, the Observatory. Since it’s the first game in the line-up and it starts on February 14h, it looks like Alan Wake’s American Nightmare will be released on February 14th or the 15th. Featuring an explorable open-world, improved game mechanics, enhanced graphics, all netting into a 4-5 hour story along with the new “Fight Till Dawn” Mode, all at a cheap XBLA price, we’re stoked. They even tease that if this method of release and the game is well-received, we may see more of it’s kind in the future.

The gameplay here shows Alan looking for a man named Dr. Meadows. It seems possessed objects are being reintroduced during this segment of gameplay, but it ultimately breaks into a rather cool fight in one of the observatories to a rock song as enemies barge in and the whole place flashes colors like it’s under lockdown. Check out the footage (courtesy of GameTrailers) below.
