The third and final developer diary for Alan Wake’s American Nightmare (hitting Xbox Live Arcade on February 22nd) has been released on IGN. This time the staff at Remedy talk about the game’s antagonist, Mr. Scratch, a demented serial killer brought alive by fiction and the Dark Place. Partly inspired by the popular serial killers from fictional media (including Twin Peak’s BOB) and folklore (Bloody Marry, the original folktale of Mr. Scratch), he is definitely a stand-out character and an interesting villain for Wake to be up against, especially since his motivation simply seems to be, “just for kicks.”
As always with these developers diary, be sure to pay close attention to the background. You can watch it below.
