According to Alan Wake voice actor Matthew Porretta, Alan Wake 2 is “supposed to come out in October.”
Porretta is one-half of Alan Wake’s character, with Finnish actor Ilkka Villi providing the face and motion capture performance for the protagonist. Porretta also starred as the eccentric but lovable scientist Dr. Casper Darling in Remedy’s other surreal series, Control.
In the latest episode of the Monsters, Madness, and Magic podcast hosted by Justin Young, Porretta spoke about his involvement with the upcoming sequel, saying:
I’ve been working on it. That’s supposed to come out in October. We’re in the middle of working on it now. In fact, I was just in Finland last week, that’s where the company is from… Remedy, they’re amazing people.
This is by no means an official announcement, but it’s still an interesting update coming from someone who’s so directly involved in the game. If that release window is accurate, Alan Wake 2 would be in competition with the upcoming reboot of Alone in the Dark.
Remedy has stated that the sequel will be a ‘true survival horror experience this time around and is already playable from start to finish.
Alan Wake 2 is currently set to release sometime in 2023 and will be coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S|X, and PC via the Epic Games store.
